Rescued
Fabric! BUT IT NEED NOT SUFFER THIS FATE! A hearty few of us who obviously were pioneers in the American Old West (in some past life) can not help but rescue as much as we can and keep alive a frugal tradition of using every scrap. It once was a matter of economic necessity, but now an environmental one. Every bit of fabric rescued is less cotton that needs to be irrigated, less silk worms that need to be boiled alive, less sheep taking up graze land, and less volume in the land fill. Even thread, backings and buttons are second hand, either used before, or rejected new. While occasion will force me to purchase some bit new, it is less then 1% of materials. Often it is zero. But that's not all! All of the work is done an my White Family Rotary, pictured above. It was built in 1900 and was a gift to me when I was 12 years old. (Please excuse me for not telling you how long ago that was.) Treadle (foot) powered, the old girl has been going for 110 years, has run miles of thread and I expect she'll still be running long after I have stopped. |

I'm sorry, I don't have any "BUY IT NOW" buttons on my site. Each item is unique and usually custom made. But if you are not in the area and want to buy something, write me. Pay Pal and UPS will conspire with me to make it happen. |

Get the baby clothes out of the closet but keep the memories, reduce the space the wedding clothes take. A 50th Anniversary gift? Have YOUR OWN scraps made into a quilt. The cost of a quilt can have considerable range depending on complexity and size. Click here for some past quilts and their prices. |

Pillow Shams If a scrap-work quilt is a bit too much color for you, try some pillow shams. Singles are 50$, pairs 90$. They are usually made to fit queen sized pillows but can be made to any dimensions and in most color groups. |

One of a kind, reversible winter coats. Made entirely of construction scraps and project rejects. The dark side and the light side, the wild side and the mild side, each coat is two coats. I can custom make a coat to your size specifications. I can not make one "just like this coat". I really do use only reclaimed fabrics and once the chunk I have is gone, its gone. But if you are near my shop I can let you choose from what ever I have in inventory at the time. |
